Kia rongo mai koe ki oku tipuna, ki a Tauiramatua[?], ki a Tuahunga, ki a Tamahorahora, ki a Rikimokai, ki a Weheora, ki Nanora, ki a Te Uira, ki a Kaira nana nge au, ki a Kaitukino, ki a Te Arikikaiara, ki a Kirimangu. Heoti ano o taku matua wahine. Tenei ano o taku matua tane: ko Takua, ko Potikitoa, ko Tuta nana au, ko Rahiriteo, ko Hinemaikuku, ko Te Haupunawaru. Heoti ano, ka mutu.

Kia rongo mai koe i nga hapu: ko Ngai Hine, ko Ngati Tai, ko Ngati Tu, ko Ngati Tawake.

Friend, McLean,

To inform you of my ancestors, there are: Tauiramatua[?], Tuahunga,Tamahorahora, Rikimokai, Weheora, Nanora, Te Uira, Kaira from whom I come, Kaitukino, Te Arikikaiara, Kirimangu - these are my female ancestors. And here are the male ancestors: Takua, Potikitoa, Tuta from whom I am, Rahiriteo, Hinemaikuku, Te Haupunawaru. That's all, the end.

And so you know the tribal groups, there are: Ngai Hine, Ngati Tai, Ngati Tu, Ngati Tawake.
