Blomfield, W, 1866-1938 :[Postcard] Samoa yielded without a struggle / Observer Print. .
Reference Number: Eph-B-POSTCARD-Vol-1-125-top
Shows cartoon of a Samoan maiden leaning on the shoulder of a New Zealand soldier on a Samoan beach. A German lolls on a hammock in the right background, and says: "You can have her an velcom but hurry up mit der trade". This refers to the New Zealand occupation of Samoa from the Germans in 1914, and likely refers to the fact that German business interests did not mind, so long as their trade links were not affected.
