Ki Poneke, ki a Makarini

E koro,

Tena koe. E hoa, tena koe. Whakarongo mai ki taku kupu. Ko ta taua kupu o te timatanga ko taku i whakangawari ai ki a koe, ki a koe te whakaaro ki te utu whakamutunga nei. E kore au e ora ki te kai tuha mai a te tangata, engari ma tou riri [riringi?] ano e homai ki toku ringaringa, ka pai au. Heoi ano taku karere ki a koe.

Greetings. Friend, greetings. Listen to what I have to say. What you and I said at the start, I've made easy for you, but the decision is over to you about the final payment. I won't survive on what someone hands out to me, but I would be happy with anything you place [?] in my hands. That's all of my message to you.
