To. Port Nicholson - to Governor Grey
We the people who are friendly disposed, desire that you would come. Friend it remains with you to send back Mr Kemp to hear the saying of the people who are backward [?] to part with the land. Not us we are one - we have made a public declaration before Mr Kemp and [?] Bele [?]. The thing now remains with you - if it is agreeable to yourself come - if not send Mr Kemp - this is the great assembling of the Natives at Turanganui united with us the people who have consented to give up the Wairarapa.
Raniera te Iho
His Excellency The [illegible] Chief [?]
