E hoa ma, e nga tangata o Hauranga, o Tataraimaka, tena koutou

E me[a] ana au kia haere mai koutou katoa i te Turei o tenei wiki e haere ake nei, ki te tango i nga utu o te tau tuatahi mo to koutou whenua, ki te tuhi hoki i te pukapuka whakaae o te whenua, haunga o te wahi iti i korerotia e tatou, me mutu ke he korero mo reira. Kei noho atu etahi o nga kaumatua engari me haere katoa mai, hei konei he korerotanga.

Friends, people of Hauranga and Tataraimaka, greetings to you

I suggest you all come on Thursday of this week coming, to take the payments for the first year for your land, and also to sign the document of consent over the land, excluding the small parts we all said should be finalised in another discussion. Don't have some of the elders stay away but all of you come so we can talk here.
