E hoa, e Te Makarini,

Tena koe. Kia rongo mai koe ki taku kupu. Ko taku kupu, koia tenei. Ka tukua atu nei e au ki a koe toku whenua. Koia ahau ka mea ai kia tuia rawatia ano e au nga utu ki taku timu, ana ianei ano. Ki te mea he mamae no toku ngakau, koia ahau ka tuku atu ai i toku whenua ki a koe. Me tango rawa e au ki konei ano. Heoi ano tenei.

Ko nga ingoa enei o nga whenua mou, e Te Makarini: ko Kaiwaru, ko Ngamatapouri, ko Wahinetaupari, ko Ngaruakino, ko Puketore, Wanauroroa, ko Aramohutahuta, [k]o Tupaengaroa, Mangere, Ngutuhinaki, Wareonge, Waewaeraupa, Rangiahua, haere tonu, a, te moana, ko Moerangi, ko Te Anahaehae te rohe ki raro o Waiwerenui, Matukutakotako, Pukekaikino. Ko te tikanga o te rohe ki uta, ko te urunga te rohe ki tenei taha o Waiwerenui. Ka mutu taku korero ki a koe, ko toku whenua enei ki a koe. Heoi ano.

Friend, McLean,

Greetings. Hear what I have to say. It is this. I give you my land. And that is why I say to join together the payments for my part[?]. I am upset and that is why I give my land over to you. Let me take [the payment] immediately here. That's all of this.

The names of the lands for you, McLean, are: Kaiwaru, Ngamatapouri, Wahinetaupari, Ngaruakino, Puketore, Wanauroroa, Aramohutahuta, Tupaengaroa, Mangere, Ngutuhinaki, Wareonge,Waewaeraupa, Rangiahua, going on to the sea and then Moerangi, Te Anahaehae, the boundary to the north of Waiwerenui, Matukutakotako, Pukekaikino. The direction [?] of the boundary inland, is towards [?] this side of Waiwerenui. That ends what I have to say to you: these are my lands for you. That's all.
