[Ki] a Makarini

Tena ra korua ko Te Hemara. E hoa, homai tetahi peere kaka hei tawiri i nga waiu o te kau, kua whanau te kuao, he wahine. Ka homai te peere, mau e korero mai ki aTe Hemara nga utu. E hoa, tena hoki etahi tupeka maku, he mate rawa noku i te hiakai tupeka, koia au i tuhituhi atu ai ki a koe. Heoi ano.

Greetings to you and Te Hemara. Friend, would you give me a [tin?] pail to collect the milk, the cow has calved, it is female. If you will give me the pail, speak to Te Hemara about the payment. Friend, and some tobacco for me. I'm dying for some tobacco which is why I wrote to you. That's all.
