To Port Nicholson, to McLean

Friend, McLean,

Greetings. Listen to what I have to say to you. I have come to Ngati Ruanui to collect the payment for the Pakeha's work, £2. I will take it to town, to Kingi, and give it to him. There is £1 remaining, I will collect that in town.

Greetings. We have great affection for you.
