Most of this notebook comprises various draft letters and notes concerning his activities in Taranaki. Included are rough lists of hapu names, and a list of names of those at Ngamotu Pa at Moturoa. There are diary entries for 2-5 November 1847, describing a meeting to discuss land purchase at Waitara.
