Friend, Governor,

I am upset about my land being sold by Ngati Awa. I suggest to you that you buy my land now, also since I am ill. That's all to say.

Te Mata-pihi-o-te-rangi, Mihaka Niumata, Koriwai, Ngapaki [list of names follows, very difficult to decipher].

Friend, Governor, hear what I have to say, this is the land, for which I have written the names.
