8 Hurai 1847

E hoa, e Te Makarini,

Kua korero au ki a koe, kua mea mai koe, kei a koe te whakaaro mo aku moni kei a Mata - e wha pauna ten [sic] hereni. Kia oti taku whiti ka haere atu au ki te tiki atu, i tua o tenei wiki.

Friend, McLean,

When I spoke to you, you said that it was your decision over my money which is with Mata - £4.10s. When I have finished with my wheat, I will go and get it, after this week.
