E hoa, e Makarini,

Kua mea au ki a Te[?] Pirihi, mana ahau, ma Nohi[?] au ka whakaae[?] ki tau mahi. Kia rua wiki ki mua ake nei. Kaore au e pai ki te tikanga whawhai, engari me mahi noa iho.

I said to Te Pirihi that for him, for Nohi, I agree to your work. Let it be two weeks hence. I don't agree with the business of fighting, rather there should only be work.
