E hoa, e Te Makarini,
Tena koe.

Greetings. Your letters have come to me. I recognise what you say about the right over Kaiarara, and I agree with your suggestion because you have called on Hori Patara for the hundred acres for £20, and because we have continually requested you give us those payments out of consideration. It is for Hori Patara to tell you about yearly administration of that £20. But if we settle this for you, I would also say to you that if I am a recipient of payments for that land, I would not delay your giving that land to Hori Patara, and to me, or to us all. My word is that Kaiarara should be finalised this year. That's all I have to say to you.
From your friend,
