E hoa, e Makarini,
Tenei ano taku kupu ki a koe. Whakaritea nga hea[mea?] kia hanga, kia rua pu me te pouaka. Kei whakamai[?] Whakaritea mai tetahi[?] hoki o nga wini, kia kotahi, kia waru nga paraki. Kia 2 nga wiki ka haere atu nga tangata ki te tiki atu. Heoi ano te korero.

My message to you is this. Arrange the things for the building; two guns and the box. Don't ... [meaning unclear]. Arrange also for one of the windows, for one, and for eight planks. In two weeks the men will go and fetch them. That's all to say.
