To McLean

Friend, McLean, my dear friend,

Greetings to you there in thought and regard for me and your good friend Hori Kingi Te Anaua.

Friend, the letter you wrote to Hori Kingi and I, I did not read. I gave it to be discussed there at Parikino, and so it is there. I did not know of your coming to Rangitikei because I had not read your letter. Hori is ill. You could write to me of it. That's all.

From your good friend,
Hoani Wiremu Hipango
