My dear Sir,

Arrived here all safe on Saturday evening. On my way yesterday to Mrs. Darts to dinner, I saw Buller who says that Karaitiana received £100 on a/c of Manawatu block therefore he cannot act. I hope this will be in time for you to stop him from coming overland. I am afraid you will not be in Napier when I reach there again if ever I do so this Manawatu business is beginning to weigh me down.

In haste, Yours very truly,
J. Rogan.
