Dear brother

I have bought that large Spanish sheep dog of Mr Abbot, a most valuable dog. If you could find a large cooley or Newfoundland dog bitch so that I might get a breed from them I should like it very much.

As I am in a hurry I have no more to say but remain your ever affectionate brother
Alexander McLean
