PRIVATE. Wellington.

15th. December 1871.

My dear Sir,

A friend of mine, an old newspaper Editor, is desirous of getting up to Auckland without delay, and would be very much served by your ordering him a passage by the "Luna". The gentleman's name is A.G. Horton, an old Timaru settler. He is a literary friend of the Land Transfer Department.

Yours truly, (Signed)
W.S. Morehouse.
To:- Hon. Donald McLean.
