Westoe,
3 May 73

My dear McLean,

The bearer is Mr. Gordon Baillie, whose sisters were desirous of presenting the Te Aro School Cadet Volunteers with a flag, but whose Bunting intentions were defeated by the red tape notions of the Colonel Commanding etc. as I mentioned to you when in Welln.

I hope you will be able to meet the wishes of the young heroes, and give them an encouragement to become Patriots as well.

Yours faithfully,
Wm.Fox
