Dear MacLean,

I recd. the officials and will proceed without delay to Mahia per ''Cutter''.

I must however, under all the circumstances tell you, that I feel obliged to decline the salary etc. notified to me and that I do not intend to draw any, on the scale proposed, as regards other arrangements I will gladly await your coming back to Napier,
