The General is here. He says the friendly natives have not been well treated. That Parris is in hot water with Gold and the Officers and wants you to go to N.P. if you only go for a week. Could you take White with you so that you might leave him there and return after seeing

The Victoria will return tomorrow. I am sure Parris has been ill-lreated but it is of no use to try to make people work together who hate each other.
