Turanga Poverty Bay
3 September 1865

Donald McLean Esq.
My dear Sir,

We have just heard the Taitanga Makaki and others of the Hauhau are to start tonight or tomorrow for uawa to seek payment for their slain.

A messenger is now starting to take a letter to Hirine te Kani and warn the Natives on the Coast. Excuse bruptness. 8 p.m.
