Dear McLean

Only one copy of Colensos Essay was ever printed and the type was thrown out as the printer could not afford to wait.

It is to be printed in the Institute Transactions very soon ---

I send you the only copy that you may glance at it but it is very important that I should get it back before friday next.

Send me an opinion as to its value to show the Governors of the Institute.

I have no copy of Rob. Crusoe in Maori.

Sincerely yours
James Hector
