Sir,

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 20th. inst.

I feel exceedingly gratified at the result of your operations against the Hau Haus; which appear to have been eminently successful.

I shall not fail to bring under the notice of His Excellency's Government, the energy and bravery displayed by yourself and the Officers and men under your command.
