My dear Mr.McLean -

I am sorry to have trouble you at the present busy time, but I enclose the accompanying letter from Colonel Moule, for your consideration - I am not aware of having taken any particular advantage of your visit, at least not in the light Moule puts it, as being a personal slight to himself in obtaining what you kindly authorised I have written and told him that I am sorry he should have taken the matter so much to heart - That I consider I only did what I could for the benefit of the men and District generally - and not to suit my own konvenience and caprice, I do not think he is justified in using those words. With reference to the letter about the Stores, I do not think I made any complaint, it was only a suggestion, and I certainly shewed it to you, and you put a "Memo" on it - That is the unusual course as mentioned in Colonel Moules letter -

I do not desire in any way to ignore Colonel Moule's authority as Commissioner, I do not pretend to say that I do not feel his being my senior in the A.C. but for all that I am too much of a soldier, and been at it too long to disregard my superior in rank. Wishing you well thro' all the difficulties and worries of the Session

Believe me
Sincerely yours
William C.Lyon
