The folder contains 9 letters written by Catherine Isabella McLean, from Maraekakaho and Glenorchy, Hawke's Bay, 1861-1875.Includes one letter written by Annabella McLean from Edinburgh in Nov 1862

My dear Donald

It is on "Friday" night that I am going to have my party at 8 o'clock. I saw Mr Wilson and told him so but in case of any mistake will you tell him. My party are to be Miss Craycroft, Mrs & Mr Cocks, Judge and Mrs Johnston, Sir David and Lady Munro, Miss Pool, Dr and Miss Greenwood, Mr Ormond, Lord Henry, yr Honor and others. I hope it will go off well. Annabella is busy with her dressmaker. She is quite well. In all I think of having 30 people & all can please themselves as to dress.
