I quite concur in yr remarks about the Maori Boy - Wardell very properly refused to take any action in the matter - There seems a panic at Wanganui caused by some reports of White's Native Assessors - I suspect it is all fudge, but I go up as soon as

the Storm Bird comes in from Picton. The diggings at the Pelorus and Wairau are turning out well. By the bye an application for land on yr. run nr. Waimahi was made the other day - but was not received, as the land (word indecipherable) Council by one of Pharazyn's selections. Fitzherbert says - you won't be safe, unless you take a few more thousand acres
