My dear brother

I had your note by Sculley to have the wethers mentioned and send 650 down to Napier but you did not say when or yet say where the Beautiful Star was. If you had stated that the vessel was in harbour and readey for the sheep then I would soon get the sheep and have them drafted and sent down.

I was going to muster on Monday and give notice to all the neighbours wether permitting and till this morning I did not hear that the vessell was in harbour and she may be waiting for the wether.

However nothing could be done till tomorrow owing to the we[a]ther. If I can I shall have the sheep in on Monday and drafted on Thursday on account of giving notice to all parties that has sheep hear and send the boy home as soon as you can. Anabella is well and tell Kate to send her the saddle.

Let me have the particular about the time the vessel is going to sail. In haste.

Yours allways
Alex McLean
