14th. Sep. 1860.

My dear Mr. McLean,

In thinking over the second expedition landing at Waitara it strikes me that this will be a very difficult task as involving the necessity transporting by sea some 800 men and keeping up an intercourse by sea between them and New Plymouth. Have you thought of this? Where are the ships?

Faithfully yours,
G.T. Pratt.
