My dear McLean

Weber has just ridden over here and brought a letter from Locke wherein he says he is not coming until the St.Kilda comes on the 10th - I do not think they were wise to miss the Ashley and I was much surprised thereat, but there is no accounting for what people will do under such circumstances.

Nevertheless Locke's business is suffering more or less and I hope you will see that he does make a start in the St. Kilda and that the St. Kilda comes or else there is no chance till the 20th.

Yours very truly
Joseph Rhodes
