Te Wairoa

Decr. 26th, 1867

To Donald McLean Esqre.
Dear Sir,

I have but time to forward you the official Communication I have just received in answer to my application (made according to your advice) to the Native Ministry, for the Medical appointment supposed to be then acated by Dr. Scott - I can only conclude that Deighton did not report him as he informed me - which seems strange, he himself having urged me to apply for it -

I also enclose a letter from my Brother and you will judge from it how much the Wellington communication has disappointed me - for the salary would have been such an assistance to me at first in going on my Land - In haste

I remain, dear Sir,
Yours faithfully,
Fredk. F. Ormond
