Should you object to insert the words ''after a most careful investigation'' after the words ''before me''. From what I know of what you and Parris have done both before and after the Survey I should suppose that you can have no difficulty in stating so much.

Let me hear from you by return steamer as the Report is wanted for the House to-morrow.

Your truly,
C.W. Richmond.

My dear Maclean,

In your Report on the Waitara question you say ''All the evidence that has come before me including William King's own testimony that the land belonged to the above parties goes to prove etc.''

I think the Report ought on the face of it to state that there has been a careful investigation.

Your truly,
C.W. Richmond.
