6th. Feby. 1869.

Dear McLean,

I enclose you a letter from Mr. St. George, all is really quiet at Taupo at present and unless Te Kooti should go there all will be well we in my opinion have little to fear from them, the population so so small, but should the Maori King take action why then things will be serious no doubt it appears from my letter that all is at present safe at Wairoa I shall be glad to hear any news you may have as I am about to proceed to the Wairoa.

Believe me Yours very truly,
C. Lambert.
