Sir,

I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 3rd. instant, addressed to His Excellency, the Governor, tendering the resignation of your office as Superintendent of the Province of Hawke's Bay, and to inform you that His Excellency has in Her Majesty's name, been pleased on the 3rd. inst. to accept such resignation.
