My dear McLean,

I know you are over pressed with work but you know that I have to report on the districts into which the acts of 1858 have been introduced and how they have worked. The Report should go by this mail if possible. Perhaps Smith could draw it up. It would also be very desireable if we could say that a certainnumber of chiefs have been employed at
