My dear Mr. Maclean,

Thank you very much for the trouble you have taken about Govt. House. I have been very anxious all today, as I I have here all our plate and my jewels and they are not insured. Do you think that I ought to send them to the Bank?

We have no entertainments now, and I do not require them.

Will you come and lunch with me tomorrow?

Yours sincerely,
Diamantine Bowen
Govt. House,

Jany. 27/71
