Sir,

With the supplementary pay lists for September I have the honour to enclose an extract from a letter which I have received from the colonial Secretary, authorising me to continue the servioes, from the commencement of the present financial year, of the additional men formerly connected with the Police Magistrate establishment; a copy of which authority I shall feel obliged by your transmitting to the office of the Auditor General at Auckland.
