Sir,

As some alarm may have been occasioned among the inhabitants in consequence of a report that 400 armed natives were expected to arrive at Patumahoe with hostile intentions.

I have much pleasure in informing you that no danger need be apprehended by the outsettlers and I have to request that you will take such steps as you may deem advisable to remove
