Sir,

I have by the last Mail received a communication from Mr. V. Smith agent for the Representatives of the Wairarapa property of the late Mr. George Meredith; requesting me to inform him whether any arrangement has been concluded by you in reference to the Native claims conflicting with the boundaries of that property.

You would much oblige me therefore if you would furnish me with the particulars of any arrangement you may have made in that case.
