Sir,

Will Your Honor be good enough to let me have the correspondence you wish to have copied that has lately taken place with the Hon. the Colonial Secretary in reference to the Wellington Debt -

In case Your Honor in your statistical remarks should wish to draw a comparison as regards Census etc. I send you the New Zealand Gazette - where under the letter C - "Census" - you will obtain the information - Major Greer would be able to give you the last returns - The one I enclose

Is it your Honors directions that I copy any of the letters as regards the £60000 Loan -

In reference to my Memo. forwarded this morng. to your Honor - I have ascertained that there has been no money recovered from the General Govt. since the last Session.

I am afraid that neither Mr. Parsons or Mr. Dolbel will be in the Council on the first week -
